Instructions for 3 March 2010
In this blog, I have included samples to shape poetry that you can use as inspiration for your original shape poems.
1) Additionally, please use the links to research on the purpose of shape poetry.
Think about these questions in your research:
What is the effect that shape poetry has on the reader?
What effect and emotions would I want the reader to have when reading my poem?
2) Craft out your own shape poem on the worksheet provided.
To start, have an object in mind that inspires you.
List down key words and phrases that comes to mind when you think of the object.
Arrange these phrases into a shape poem.
3) After you have created your poems, answer the questions in the worksheet.
What is the purpose of a shape poem?
Did you enjoy the process?
What did you like about your shape poem?
What difficulties did you face when crafting your own poem?
All poems and reflections are to be submitted to me in class. This task is worth 10 marks and will be computed into your CA 1.
